Α significant information resource about the history of Mithymna and the wider area.

The manuscripts include Minutes and documents of the Molyvos Council of Elders (Dimogerontia), bearing ottoman seals, resolutions, pupils notebooks, etc, dating from the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century.

The resolution adopted by the Municipality of Molyvos and calling for the unification of Lesvos with the rest of Greece, dated 03-01-1913 and consigned to all the consular officials the great powers in Mytilene, is of particular significance. The resolution is signed by Christian and Muslim Dimogerontes (i.e. members of the Council of Elders), as well as the Mufti of Molyvos.

All the manuscripts have been digitized through “https://dspace.cplm.gr/Digital Herodotus  project and are accessible to the public via the digital repository that has been developed. Researchers can not only read the manuscripts but also save/store or print them.
