The Local History-Litterature Collection, including items related to History, Folklore, Geography, Culture, Education, etc of the region of Mithymna but also of Lesvos and Asia Minor, is particularly important for the Library as it preserves the work of local intellects for future generations.
The Collection includes among others a pair of glasses belonging to Stratis Myrivilis, as well as first editions of writer’s works, donated by his daughter Drossoula and his granddaughter Christina. The glasses are exhibited in the Library along (together) with the brass bust of Argyris Eftaliotis and the permanent exhibition of photographic archival material.
